The change of season brings a multitude of transformations in the environment. As we bid farewell to the cold winds of fall and enter the blooming spring, it's important to adapt to the seasonal changes for a healthy hair and skin appearance.
Each season comes with its own set of challenges when it comes to hair and skincare. From dry air during winter to the scorching heat of summer, our hair strands and scalp get exposed to a range of elements affecting appearance, manageability, and overall health.
Winter skincare usually focuses on heavy moisturising serums and shampoos, but as temperatures rise, swap them with lightweight shampoos and water-based products.
The summer season calls for excess oil production; therefore, try water-based moisturising and hydrating shampoos that won’t clog your pores, and opt for oil-free formulas.
Choose a broad spectrum of SPF 30 that would protect your hair strands from scorching heat that can damage your scalp.
Use conditioner every time after shampoo; that would prevent damage, restore moisture, and enhance your overall hair texture as well.
Start wrapping your hair gently in a towel to absorb excess water without causing friction, and purchase a microfiber towel.
Allow water to naturally flow through the length of your hair and avoid vigorous rubbing to prevent breakage and minimise friction during the summer season.
If you’re taking a dip in a swimming pool or at the beach, then rinse your hair before and after to minimise the absorption of these chemicals and try to cover your hair with stylish scarves and hats.
