Three brothers running farm theft gang arrested by police, 57 cases solved

Haryana police busted a gang involved in stealing agricultural equipment in various Kaithal district villages, arresting three members and recovering stolen items. These arrests solved 57 theft cases across multiple police station jurisdictions. The accused, three brothers, had been conducting thefts since 2024, primarily targeting farmers' fields.

KAITHAL: Haryana police busted a gang involved in stealing fields' equipment in various villages of Kaithal district. The Anti-vehicle theft staff police have arrested three gang members and recovered stolen items, including two vehicles used in the crimes, a submersible motor fan, a chain pulley, two iron pipe bends, 70 kg of rubber-coated copper wire, 12 broken starters, five small cylinders and other agricultural iron equipment, said police.With these arrests, the police have successfully solved 57 theft cases reported in Pundri, Titram, Sadar, Kalayat, and Dhand police station jurisdictions of Kaithal district. Addressing the media persons, DSP Sushil Prakash mentioned that on March 9, Sandeep, a resident of Kailram, filed a complaint stating that unknown individuals broke into his field hut at night and stole a starter, 150 feet of wire, a motor fan, a machine, and iron pipes.On March 11, acting on intelligence, the team arrested the first two accused, Rajpal and Sonu, from Khurana Road in Kaithal. They were presented in court on March 12, where police obtained a three-day remand. Based on their interrogation, their third accomplice, Roshan, a resident of Faral, was also apprehended.
DSP revealed that all three accused are brothers. During interrogation, they confessed that Rajpal and Sonu had been involved in thefts since 2024, while their brother Sonu joined them in January 2025. Together, their gang was responsible for 57 thefts in 18 cases across Kaithal district.Rajpal, who previously worked as a scrap dealer, convinced his brothers that valuable items could be found in farmers' fields, which could be sold for profit. They then started stealing agricultural equipment. Rajpal and Sonu would survey fields during the day and, at night, the gang would carry out thefts, he added.
