In connection to the Amritsar spurious liquor tragedy, two owners of Sahib Chemical Factory in Ludhiana, Pankaj Kumar and Arvind Singh, have been arrested. According to Ludhiana police commissioner Swapan Sharma, the main accused, Sahib Singh, confessed to procuring approximately 20 liters of methanol from their factory to produce the illicit liquor.

LUDHIANA: Two owners of a Ludhiana chemical factory were arrested on Tuesday for their alleged link to the Amritsar spurious liquor tragedy.The main accused, Sahib Singh, had allegedly procured about 20 litres of methanol from the Ludhiana-based accused to make spurious liquor.The accused have been identified as Pankaj Kumar, alias Sahil, and Arvind Singh, who own Sahib Chemical Factory in Ludhiana’s Sukh Enclave.Ludhiana commissioner of police Swapan Sharma confirmed the arrests, saying, “Two arrests have been made in Ludhiana in connection with the Majitha hooch tragedy. The kingpin Sahib Singh, who was arrested in Amritsar, had revealed that he had bought about 20 litres of methanol from Sahib Chemical Factory.”Sharma further said that the Amritsar police arrested the accused with the help of Ludhiana police from Mundian area of the district.Further investigation will be conducted by the Amritsar police.
