'Gangs of Ghotalaabaz': BJP drops AI video targeting Lalu Prasad-Tejashwi Yadav, RJD calls it sign of panic
Bihar BJP has released an AI-generated video, 'Gangs of Ghotalaabaz,' accusing Lalu Prasad and Tejashwi Yadav of corruption, signaling AI's role in upcoming elections.
PATNA: The Bihar BJP on Wednesday launched a video made with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) on its X handle levelling serious allegations of corruption against RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his son Tejashwi Prasad Yadav. The video song, titled ‘Gangs of Ghotalaabaz' targeting the Lalu family for cases like fodder scam and land scam, indicated the way AI is going to be a campaign tool in the assembly election due later this year.
The Election Commission is aware of the danger of the increasing use of AI during election campaigns and is preparing to curb its misuse by issuing comprehensive guidelines in this regard. Reacting to the BJP's video, RJD said the saffron party netas suffer from Lalu and Tejashwi phobia. RJD spokesman Ejaz Ahmad alleged Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself had mentioned 54 scams of the Nitish govt. Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha was removed from the road construction department because he had exposed corruption in the department. BJP is scared of the growing popularity of Tejashwi and is doing such work in restlessness," he said. The virtual experiment of conveying messages through social media is nothing new.
The AI use has started in memes, cartoons and other means of publicity.RJD neta Tejashwi had also released an AI-driven cartoon targeting CM Nitish Kumar recently with the caption: "Driving a 20-year-old vehicle is not allowed in Bihar because it emits more smoke, increases pollution, is harmful for the public. Then why the 20-year-old Nitish govt".
