Kriti Sanon starrer Crew celebrates its first anniversary tomorrow. The actress played the role of a stylish, ambitious, and fearless woman, Divya in the Rajesh A Krishnan directorial that also starred
Kareena Kapoor Khan and
Tabu in lead roles. As the actress looks back, on this special day, she speaks about her role saying, “I relate a lot to my character, Divya, because she's nerdy, studious, a topper, and even the head girl, and guess what? I was all of those too! Sometimes, Divya feels she hasn’t reached where she wanted to, and I’ve totally felt that way in my life. So, she’s a dreamer, an achiever, and a go-getter. I think that’s why I connected with her.”
As she reflects being a part of the star-studded project that was headlined by a strong female cast, Kriti says, “When a film like this, that’s about three women from different generations doing different kinds of roles, comes together to do a comedy film, which, by the way, people don’t expect… If it’s three women, they usually think it’s going to be all about ‘men bashing’ or some heavy ‘woman empowerment’ thing. But nope! It’s just a simple story about three women, and it doesn’t need to be about ‘women’ at all. It could just as easily be about men, and the story would stay the same—that’s the beauty of Crew.”
Next up, the Mimi actress is set to bring another interesting character to life in Tere Ishk Mein, directed by Anand L. Rai. Paired with Dhanush, this film promises to be a love story like no other, and one can’t wait to see Kriti in yet another exciting role with a fresh pairing!
