Sean Diddy Combs' ongoing sex trafficking trial has been the talk of the town. A week into the case and it seems that things are only just getting started. In recent updates, the rapper, through his legal team, has filed for a complete dismissal of the lawsuit and charges against him by singer
Dawn Richard.
Diddy is looking to be done with Richard’s lawsuit
On the same day that the American singer testified against Diddy, he ended up filing for a complete dismissal of charges as well as a lawsuit that had been filed against him by her. He has made claims, according to a TMZ report, that the civil lawsuit is not viable, as whatever allegations Dawn has made against him are false.
The rapper's legal team has claimed that she is trying to use the negative press against Diddy and is doing so to get a “payout”. They also issued a statement on the matter that read "seeks to transform narratives of alleged injuries against others into a headline-grabbing sex trafficking conspiracy as to her."
Timing of filing for dismissal is more important
What makes this news even more important is the fact that the rapper’s team filed for the official dismissal of the lawsuit and charges on the very day that Dawn Richards testified against him and claimed that she witnessed the abuse that
Cassie Ventura went under at the hands of Combs. She made claims that she witnessed the infamous 2009 attack where Combs violently attacked Ventura and abused her using a skillet.
Richard was told to keep quiet
The singer also claimed that at the time of the attack, Combs told her and another bandmate to keep completely quiet about the situation. She also shared during her testimony that she kept the door locked when this conversation was happening and that Diddy even tried to buy them flowers to convince and make up with them as well.
Official documents for dismissal filed
They filed the official documents for the dismissal this Friday and shared a number of reasons, such as the statute of limitations and improper group pleas, as valid reasons for the dismissal of the civil lawsuit that has been filed against him by Dawn Richard.
