Mohanlal's 'Thudarum' continues to impress at the box office even as it crosses the three-week mark. On its 23rd day, the film collected an estimated Rs 1.65 crore.
As per trade analyst Sacnilk.com the third week saw a total collection of Rs 20.8 crore, with the Malayalam version contributing the bulk at Rs 19.35 crore. The film also earned modestly from Telugu and Tamil markets, adding Rs 26 lakhs and Rs 1.19 crore respectively. Despite a 41% drop compared to earlier weeks-a common trend as films age-'Thudarum' has maintained strong numbers, pushing its overall total to an impressive Rs 110.70 crore.
Theatre OccupationOn Saturday, May 17, 2025, 'Thudarum' recorded an overall Malayalam occupancy rate of 36.92%, reflecting a healthy audience turnout. The occupancy varied throughout the day, starting at 16.35% during morning shows and rising to 31.71% in the afternoon. Evening shows saw a further increase to 39.73%, while night shows peaked at an impressive 59.89%. These figures show the film’s strong appeal during prime time, especially among Malayalam-speaking viewers.
About the filmDirected by Tharun Moorthy, the film is an action thriller that is about the life of Shanmugham, fondly known as Benz, played by Mohanlal. Benz is a humble taxi driver in the quiet town of Ranni who shares a deep bond with his vintage black Ambassador car, which he treats like family. His peaceful life with his wife Lalitha and son Pavi takes a dark turn when his beloved car is seized by the police after being used unknowingly in a drug smuggling case. As Benz tries to reclaim his car, he uncovers a sinister conspiracy involving corrupt police officers.
